Individual psychotherapy offers an in-depth approach to understanding yourself and the forces that shape your emotions, behaviors, and relationships. Together, we will explore the deeper layers of your experiences, uncovering patterns and conflicts that may be influencing your life, often without your awareness. This process can help address a wide range of challenges, such as depression, anxiety, and stressors associated with life transitions and relationships. When appropriate, I integrate the thoughtful use of psychiatric medications into treatment, using them as a supportive tool to reduce distress and create space for deeper exploration.
Meeting frequency and session duration: One or more times weekly, 50 minutes.
Group psychotherapy offers a unique opportunity to understand yourself in the context of relationships with others. In session, members explore their thoughts, feelings, and interactions as they occur in the group setting, uncovering patterns that may also appear in other areas of life. The group provides a safe and supportive space to experiment with new ways of relating, receive honest feedback, and develop deeper self-awareness. Group psychotherapy may be used as the primary treatment approach, or it can be used alongside individual treatment.
I offer several types of groups, including short-term groups, as well as groups focused on social anxiety, trauma, immigrant issues, men’s issues, LGBTQIA+ issues, and others. Please inquire to learn more.
Meeting frequency and session duration: Once weekly, 90 minutes.
Couples psychotherapy can help partners explore the deeper emotional patterns and dynamics that influence their relationship, often shaped by past experiences as well as cultures and families of origin. By looking beyond surface conflicts, we’ll work together to understand the underlying feelings and triggers that create tension or disconnection. This process fosters greater empathy, healthier communication, and a deeper connection between partners.
Whether you’re navigating a specific challenge or simply seeking to strengthen your bond, couples therapy provides a supportive space to build a more fulfilling and resilient relationship. I welcome working with couples of diverse sexual and romantic orientations.
Meeting frequency and session duration: One or more times weekly, 60 minutes.
I view medications as a tool that can help facilitate and reinforce the process of healing, especially when symptoms become overwhelming. I work with patients who are engaged in individual psychotherapy with myself or another clinician. Medications are prescribed when indicated, always with a focus on how they can support the deeper work of self-discovery, growth, and healing.
Meeting frequency and session duration: Variable, 50 minutes.
I can offer a full evaluation as a standalone service, where we will do a comprehensive review of your physical and mental health, your history, and your psychiatric treatment, past and present. This is designed for people who have questions or are seeking a second opinion. While these appointments do not typically result in ongoing care, if after the appointment you feel continued care could be beneficial, we can discuss options for moving forward.
